Case Study Dolphin Sunset Lodge, Kenya

Goal

Our goal was to assist a hotel in Kenya in maximizing revenue per available room (RevPAR) rather than solely focusing on average daily rate (ADR).

Approach

We began by analyzing the hotel’s performance data and market trends to identify areas for improvement. We discovered that while the hotel had been concentrating on increasing ADR, it was not fully capitalizing on its occupancy potential. We implemented a holistic revenue management strategy that included optimizing pricing strategies, leveraging distribution channels effectively, and implementing targeted promotional campaigns to boost both occupancy rates and ADR simultaneously. Additionally, we provided training to the hotel staff on revenue management principles and best practices to ensure sustainable implementation of the new strategy.

Results

As a result of our efforts, the hotel experienced a significant increase in RevPAR, surpassing previous performance metrics. By balancing ADR and occupancy optimization, the hotel achieved higher revenue generation and improved profitability. Furthermore, the hotel staff became more proficient in revenue management techniques, enabling them to continue driving revenue growth independently. Overall, our approach helped the hotel achieve its revenue goals and enhance its competitive position in the Kenyan hospitality market.
